MARRIAGE/FAMILY

The marriage covenant is the most intimate relationship one can have with another person. Whether a newlywed or a seasoned couple, every marriage will face conflict from time to time.  Our trained counselors work with couples to overcome everyday challenges and develop greater intimacy. Because couples often lack the practical skills needed to maintain oneness, we focus on development, coaching husbands and wives to implement what they learn outside of the session. If you feel that your marriage relationship could benefit from some fine-tuning, help through a conflict or practical enrichment, we can help you develop a plan that meets your distinctive needs.

Problems within the family structure are all too common. From marriages that are struggling, to teens becoming difficult to relate to and frustration with communication impediments, family life can be challenging.

We are here for you. At the Eldred McClean Counseling Center, Inc. we value the family as a God-given institution. We are committed to helping families through the tough times in life and experience restoration and healing.

“The Anger Epidemic”

These days, people’s anger is boiling over in locations that traditionally were off limits. Millions
of people are volatile. We are witnessing out-of-control anger displayed on airplanes, while
driving on highways, at retail stores, and yes, even on stage at the annual Academy Awards.

Anger is a natural and strong feeling of annoyance. It is also an instinctive response to
displeasure, threats, or hostility. However, some feelings of anger are necessary for our
protection. Anger becomes a problem when it is out-of-control and a person has trouble
controlling it, resulting in him saying or doing things he regrets.

Uncontrolled anger is bad for a person’s physical and mental health. When anger becomes
aggressive, it can lead to hostile or violent behavior and a negative attitude towards another
person. Left unchecked, aggressive anger can quickly escalate to physical violence, harming the
angry individual and those around him.
